Knitted Cable Bags
I wanted to knit something easy and quick so I went on a search for a quick knit bag and found a wonderful pattern at Ravelry the direct link to the free pattern here. It's a wonderful cable bag that can easily be tweaked to your liking.
If you follow the pattern you'll get something like this:
or you can extend the pattern and make bigger bags, like this:
I lined these bags with some cute liners I found at Jo-Ann Fabrics & Crafts. I folded the liner in half, cut the liner to the width of the bag, then I sewed the sides together, and lastly I sewed the liner on to the knitted bag. You could also add small pockets with the left over liner, like I did.
It's much easier to do the bag with purchased handles like the pattern calls for. The knitted handles on the black bag I knit using the I-cord method (learn here http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jcGj6tpqeJA).
So pick up some super chunky yarn, a cute liner, some chunky needles, and knit yourself a bag!
